Project Summary

The CREDIT project will address current challenges in circular remanufacturing by adopting a human-centred innovation approach, focusing on the digitalisation of assets, creating multi-layered Digital Twins (DTs), and developing an open-source-based distributed ICT platform, allowing seamless data management and complex DT implementation. Additionally, a range of remanufacturing-enabling digital services, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) based decision support systems (DSS), DLT-based traceability and quality control, forecasting and predictive maintenance, and general support tools for remanufacturing operations, such as Augmented Reality (AR), will be integrated. Alongside these technologies and tools, a comprehensive upskilling and education methodology (E) will be developed to ensure the appropriate level of maturity at the factory site.

Our Role

Nimbus have two main contributions in this project. Firstly, the centre leads a crucial work package focused on developing, deploying and testing the software tools to enable remanufacturing operations. Nimbus is also directly responsible for developing the Decision Support Systems as well as the Traceability and Quality Control tool. Secondly, we will also contribute to the security and data privacy of the CREDIT digital platform. Additionally, Nimbus are also developing a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) based data sharing framework which is one of the critical components of the platform. It provides an immutable, auditable record of reports and data required for the remanufacturing operations. These contributions build on and extend existing Nimbus expertise in the areas of trust and DLT.
