Application Area
Communication and computing networks are constantly evolving. Mobile networks evolution happens in generations. While one generation is being rolled out, research and development on the next is already well underway. Similar evolutionary processes apply to most other types of networks, addressing ever changing and increasing demands for resources imposed by emerging technologies such as smart systems, connected mobility, augmented and virtual reality, and so on.
Modern networks are not static but are expected to dynamically adjust to demand. This requires network elements to assess the demand and adjust accordingly. The advent of AI provides opportunities to create intelligent solutions for network management tasks such as resource allocation, load balancing, routing etc.
Intelligent and Future Networks is at the heart of global innovation, as we move beyond 5G, the next wave of mobile and wireless technologies—6G and intelligent, software-defined networks—will underpin everything from immersive virtual environments to autonomous systems and real-time digital twins.
To meet the performance, flexibility, and security demands of the future, networks must evolve to become ultra-reliable, adaptive, and intelligent. This requires a new perspective on how networks are designed, managed, and secured—from the physical layer up to the application layer. Nimbus is focused on addressing this challenge to enable context-aware, real-time, AI-powered services that can dynamically adapt to users, applications, and evolving threats.
At the centre we enable this transformation with emphasis on three key enablers:
