Current research explores how image segmentation and vision-based analytics can support flash flood forecasting and river monitoring in complex real-world environments. Combining experience from both software engineering and applied research, his work aims to bridge AI research with practical environmental applications, particularly in areas related to flood resilience and geospatial intelligence. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. His broader research interests include Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Remote Sensing, Environmental AI, Geospatial Analytics, and Scientific Machine Learning.
