TRUDI is an SFI CONNECT funded project aimed at reducing communication and energy overhead in zero trust based architectures. TRUDI proposes a novel zero trust architecture by extending the NIST zero trust architecture. It introduces a reputation-based trust assessment mechanism to rank nodes by their trustworthiness, which is then used for access control and policy administration. Additionally, TRUDI uses a machine learning based anomaly detection mechanism that leverages contextual data, such as IP address, MAC address, location, and ambient conditions, to uncover malicious behaviours in nodes. Both the node ranking and anomaly detection mechanisms are integral parts of the TRUDI zero trust architecture.
